A challenging design brief for a group of barristers’ chambers in Brisbane, Australia, required the space to be adaptable for both private meetings and a more open plan environment depending on the day-to-day schedules of those working there. Above all, the interior design had to create a comfortable space for both clients and staff alike.

Chambers 4 worked with designer, Deb Flanagan, who chose Perspex® Frost for its subtle light translucency and matt surface texture to achieve the balance between privacy and a sense contemporary openness.

She used Perspex® Frost vibrant colours – Lime Zest and Chilli Red along with Polar White in 3mm and 6mm thickness, to create a series of decorative and functional panels. These were set within smooth timber frames in an abstract design. The Perspex® panels are very effective at allowing light to stream throughout the rooms, while providing privacy for meetings when required.

The refit comprises many imaginative design details including sliding bookshelf doors, which can move to either conceal or reveal books, and an upholstered artwork. Overall, the space is functional yet inviting and creates colour and interest for this professional environment.
