Meeting some old friends and making new ones, the LuciteLux® team is just back from an enriching experience at GlobalShop, the international exhibition aimed at the retail industry, which ran in Las Vegas, USA from March 24-26.

For this year Lucite International invited husband and wife designer duo Aaron R. Thomas and Stefanie Phan-Thomas to highlight the significant potential of the use of LuciteLux® acrylic in retail design. The result was a highly original wonderland-inspired theme that brought to life the boundless applications of our product.

Hand crafted acrylic Chihuly-esque flowers blossomed in our displays, playfully encasing Stefanie’s collection of luxury LuciteLux® acrylic clutches. A limited edition collaboration between Thomas and French pop artist Yannick Hamon featured handmade and painted LuciteLux® acrylic skateboards and a one-of-a-kind clear Louis Ghost style chair. A dot matrix stencil of 12,240 hand-cut squares on the chair’s ‘upholstery’ revealed a cross-stitch embroidery-like portrait of supermodel Cara Delevingne. The in-booth wonderland was made entirely from LuciteLux® acrylic and was designed to inspire designers to enter our third annual JUST IMAGINE Awards, which launched at GlobalShop. Aaron R. Thomas commented: “It was invigorating to watch people’s eyes light up and see their astonishment of what can be done with LuciteLux® acrylic. Seeing it applied in a complete retail environment and approached with artistry helped people envisage the material’s versatility in the entire retail arena.”
