On 1 April, 2017, Mitsubishi Chemical (MCC), Mitsubishi Plastics (MPI) and Mitsubishi Rayon (MRC) became one global company. Being part of the MRC group means Lucite International now becomes part of the new Mitsubishi Chemical Corporation (MCC).

The new MCC organization has roots that go back many years both within the field of chemistry and within the wider Mitsubishi ‘family’. Chemistry will continue to be at the heart of all our activities. And our mission remains the same.

The new MCC organization

MCC employs 42,000 people and is currently the 6th largest chemical company in the world. New MCC has 18 production centers and 13 R&D centers around the globe, enabling us to serve customers from a multitude of industries even better.

MCC-31countriesEach of the business divisions has been assigned to one of the new business domains. All business domains will have access to the R&D and production resources worldwide.



How does this affect Lucite International?

Lucite International’s MMA, Sheet and Polymer operations will become part of the MCC MMA business domain, which will continue to be led by Takashi Miyaki, Chief Operating Officer.

Lucite International’s Resins businesses in Europe and the US will become part of the MCC High Performance Chemicals’ business domain, led by Masahiro Yoshikawa, Chief Operating Officer.

The name of the group holding company Lucite International sits within will change from Mitsubishi Rayon Lucite Group Limited (MRLG) to Mitsubishi Chemical Lucite Group Limited (MCLG).
