Lucite International (LI) is passionate about making a real difference to the local community. At our Cassel site in the UK, the Safety, Health and Environment (SHE) team makes regular donations to local charities that have been nominated by employees, with the most recent donation going to the Toma Fund.

The Toma Fund is a charity dedicated to helping children, young adults and their families who are going through treatment for childhood cancers in the North East of England. The charity helps to ease the financial burden of families supporting their children with cancer and helps encourage positivity by providing things like short breaks away, going to football events and theatre trips that bring some fun and lightness into the lives of these brave children as they undergo treatment.

Recognition of the Cassel SHE team’s strong safety performance means that the Toma Fund will benefit from a £1000 donation, which will help refurbish the caravans used to provide the short breaks away for families.

Matthew Bullivant, a Mechanical Area Engineer at Cassel, nominated the Toma Fund and is pictured below with 12 year old Drew Broderick who has received great support from the charity, alongside Vanessa Middleton, senior fundraising manager.
