On 31st May 2019, Lucite International Singapore Pte Ltd (LISPL) participated in the ‘Clear Shores, Clean Waters’ event organised by the Singapore Chemical Industry Council (SCIC) as part of the industry’s promotion of awareness and commitment towards environmental protection, coinciding with World Environment Day.

A total of 11 LISPL employees volunteered in the event at East Coast Park – a 15km stretch of beach and one of Singapore’s best-known destinations for both locals and tourists – with the main goal of removing marine litter and plastic debris from the beach.

Including the team from LISPL, the event was supported by 170 volunteers from 11 companies who, together, removed a hugely impressive amount of waste – a total of 856kg.

Li Yi Teo, part of our team, said:

“This is a great way not only to demonstrate our core values of being a caring and responsible neighbour, but our commitment to our KAITEKI vision – working for the sustainable well-being of people, society and our planet Earth.

“The responses from our volunteers were positive, as this event helped to increase our awareness towards environmental protection. LISPL plans to continue to support similar events to promote corporate social responsibility and volunteering among employees.”
